The Landover-based retailer is honoring its historic milestone by donating $990,000 to Feeding America organizations to fight childhood hunger through the Capital Area Food Bank and the Maryland Food Bank. Since this partnership began, the Giant Family Foundation has provided over 26.6 million meals to our neighbors. This massive commitment ensures that the birthday celebration translates into tangible support for families throughout the local DC area!

Shoppers Support Community Non Profit Groups through In Store Fundraising

Starting this January, customers at all 163 locations can participate in the “90 Days of Giving” initiative by rounding up grocery totals at checkout to help thirteen local organizations. These beneficiaries include the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Washington and Building Bridges Across the River, continuing a legacy that began at the first self-service supermarket at Georgia Avenue NW and Park Road in 1936. With 161 pickup locations and 153 pharmacies, Giant Food remains the only homegrown grocer dedicated to being a reliable neighbor to everyone in the District!
