Old Town Alexandria just gained its most stylish new hotel address!

AKA Alexandria Becomes The Satire

The wait is over for Northern Virginia travelers wanting Marriott perks with boutique character. As of June 17, the AKA Alexandria Hotel officially became The Satire, Autograph Collection by Marriott. Concord Hospitality now manages the 180-room property, while Electra America Hospitality retains ownership.

The rebrand keeps the polish guests have known for three years, and it adds Marriott Bonvoy benefits like free nights and Elite recognition. Set in Old Town North, the hotel sits just 15 minutes from DC and 10 minutes from Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport.

“The team and I are eager for the next chapter of this stunning hotel, converting to the newest Marriott Autograph Collection,” says Managing Director Stephane Vogel. Booking is open now.

Wry Wit Meets Piero Lissoni Design

Architect Piero Lissoni designed the award-winning hotel as a tranquil urban retreat. His vision pairs modern minimalism with refined mid-century warmth. Guestrooms feature French Crema Luna stone baths and premium bedding. The name itself carries intent, engaging the capital’s energy through restraint, awareness, and a sense of humor rather than competing with it.

Beyond the rooms, the property offers a luxury movie theater, terrace fitness classes, and a dedicated wellness space. More than 14,000 square feet of meeting space hosts monthly events.

One favorite is the monthly Silent Reading Parties, held with Old Town Books, where guests bring a beloved title and read together.

Two Restaurants and a Wellness-First Stay

Dining anchors the experience with two distinct concepts. The Wise Fool serves bold American plates for breakfast and dinner, while the Bad Poet Café keeps things casual with coffee and quick bites.

“Our expanded digital marketing and food and beverage teams are anxious to launch this beautiful hotel into its next chapter,” says Will Loughran, Chief Operating Officer of Concord Hospitality.

For active stays, the Technogym fitness center delivers cross-trainers, stationary bikes, free weights, and circuit machines. The on-site Lalita Method studio adds Reformer Pilates classes, recovery services, and personalized wellness assessments.

These amenities make The Satire a genuine retreat, not merely a place to sleep!

An America 250 Package Worth Booking

Timing could not be better for history lovers. The America’s 250 Celebration package bundles discounted admission to George Washington’s Mount Vernon, a Virginia Whiskey Heritage Flight, and a commemorative America 250 whiskey glass to keep. Guests also receive complimentary e-bikes for riding into DC and 20 percent off valet parking.

On top of that, a grand-opening offer earns 3,000 bonus Marriott Bonvoy points per night through September 1, 2026. “We created a unique luxury experience to satisfy the discerning Northern Virginia traveler, and now Concord and Marriott will fully bring it to life as The Satire,” says Russ Urban, CEO and Principal of Electra America Hospitality Group.

The Washington Lobbyist champions the hotels, restaurants, and experiences that give our region its character, and we invite you to book a stay, share your visit, and follow along as we spotlight the openings worth your weekend.

The Satire, Autograph Collection is located at 625 First St, Alexandria, Virginia 22314. Rates start around $164 per night and typically run $250 to $300, depending on season and room type.
