WaterWalk Extended Stay by Wyndham plans to open WaterWalk by Wyndham Capitol Hill/Navy Yard in late 2026, with 100 apartment-style suites near the Potomac Avenue Metro station in Southeast DC. The verdict? This one is built for the weeks-long crowd, and DC has plenty of them.

Who This Capitol Hill Hotel Is Really For

If you know me, you know I’ve had a love affair with lobbies since 2009. This opening is less about the lobby and more about the laundry! Think congressional fellows, traveling nurses, consultants on a 90-day contract and families mid-move.

What Every Suite Includes

Each suite comes with a living area, a full kitchen and an in-unit washer and dryer, offered furnished or unfurnished. Across the brand, kitchens carry full-size appliances, a dishwasher and granite counters, and unfurnished suites are reserved for stays of 90 days or longer. Relocating to the Hill? Ask about unfurnished rates and bring your own couch.

The Brand Behind the Keys

WaterWalk joined Wyndham in April 2024 as its third extended-stay brand, after ECHO Suites and Hawthorn. Founder Jack DeBoer, who helped create Residence Inn and Candlewood Suites, launched WaterWalk in 2014. Its LIVE and STAY model splits units into unfurnished leases and furnished stays.

WaterWalk by Wyndham Capitol Hill/Navy Yard will sit near the Potomac Avenue Metro station (Blue, Orange and Silver lines) in Southeast DC. Pricing is not publicly listed, and online booking for this location is not yet posted. Curious what else is rising nearby?
