Honoring the Champions of Country and Cinema

This year’s class of honorees brought undisputed heavyweights to Washington DC. It was amazing to see Sylvester Stallone, known globally as Rocky Balboa, recognized not only for his film legacy but also for his impressive art career, a facet of his life that added a fascinating layer to the tribute led by Kurt Russell. The segment included heartfelt appearances by Sly’s younger brother Frank Stallone, along with actors Garrett Hedlund and Neal McDonough, and a moving performance by Blessing Offor

Equally moving was the celebration of George Strait, the King of Country, who is finally receiving his due after decades of legendary presence in American music. With performances by country giants like Brooks & Dunn, Vince Gill, and Miranda Lambert, the segment was a heartfelt salute to a man who defined a genre.

Legends of Rock, Disco, and Opera Unite

The stage radiated energy as the tributes continued for the Queen of Disco, Gloria Gaynor, and the theatrical genius Michael Crawford. Seeing the “Phantom” himself honored by Kelsey Grammer for his wonderful career—highlighted by opera hits sung by Carrie Manolakos, David Phelps, and Laura Osnes—alongside the high-octane rock gods of KISS made for a dynamic show. The musical versatility was stunning, ranging from the soulful tributes for Gaynor by artists like Jason Crabb, Chris Blue, and Deniece Williams to the explosive rock homage for KISS featuring Criss Angel, Marcus King, Garth Brooks, and Cheap Trick. It was a standout group of honorees that perfectly represented the vast range of artistic excellence!
