The Festival Grounds Offer Much More Than Live Performances
Organizers plan to transform 35 acres of open-air stadium space with carnival rides and games, an interactive basketball court, more than 100 brand activations, and 125 food vendors. Art installations, fashion and beauty showcases, wellness spaces, and a marketplace for Black-owned brands and DMV creators complete the campus. Founder and executive producer Michael Awosanya described the scale directly, saying, “We packed this weekend so full that the goal is for you not to be able to finish the festival in one day.”
The Expansion Could Deliver a Major Boost for Prince George’s County
Organizers say the sold-out 2025 debut at RFK Festival Grounds drew about 20,000 people and generated an estimated $10 million in local economic activity. For 2026, the festival team projects 120,000 attendees and up to $60 million in local impact across the weekend. Both are organizer estimates. Maryland Governor Wes Moore highlighted the regional performers, saying, “I have to give a special shout out to the ‘Made in DMV’ performers and hope everyone shows them some love this weekend.”

Afro Plus Fest runs Sept. 4 through 6 at Northwest Stadium Complex, Lots E and F, 1600 Ring Road, Landover, MD 20785. Friday hours are 2 to 11 p.m., with Saturday and Sunday running from 1 to 11 p.m. The live ticket listing shows one-day admission from $149 and three-day passes from $229, with premium tiers reaching $699.
