Theatre of Magic, an intimate illusion show created by Australian magician Christopher Wayne, opens at Fairmont Washington DC Georgetown on September 26, turning the hotel’s Kennedy Ballroom into a close-up theater with two performances a night.
A Ballroom Becomes a Close-Up Theater
Rather than staging a magician across a large ballroom, Theatre of Magic relies on proximity, with performers working only feet from the audience and mixing sleight of hand, illusion, humor and storytelling into a roughly 90-minute show paired with a cocktail program and the Fairmont’s hospitality.
Tickets and Showtimes Are Already Live
Fever’s ticket page for the show currently lists performances at 4:30 and 7:30 p.m., with general admission starting at $79 and a $159 VIP option that adds front-row seating and a private pre-show performance. As of September 25, the active calendar shows dates on September 26, October 10, October 24, November 14 and December 5.
Anyone planning around a specific evening should check the live Fever listing for the final schedule.
The Show Comes With a Dining Perk
Theatre of Magic ticket holders get 20% off dining in the hotel’s Lobby and Loggia Lounge on the night of their performance.
The hotel at 2401 M Street NW already carries a polished atmosphere for a night out, and turning the Kennedy Ballroom, normally reserved for private events, into a limited-capacity theater gives Washington a new option that sits somewhere between traditional theater, cocktail hour and close-up magic.
