Negroni Week runs September 21 through 27, and restaurants across DC and Arlington are pouring their own spins on the classic Campari cocktail.

A Global Event With A Charitable Purpose

The event, presented by Imbibe and Campari, supports Slow Food’s efforts to build a more sustainable food and beverage system, and dozens of DC restaurants take part each year with limited time riffs on the drink.

At Pascual on Capitol Hill, the La Bendición Amarga swaps in Armónico Mango Gin and huacatay infused vermouth alongside Campari and cacao bitters, while nearby Lutèce pours a Café Negroni built on gin, coffee and dark chocolate.

Georgetown’s Maison Bar à Vins offers both a Negroni Spagliato and a pisco based Vine Divine.

Arlington And Shaw Join The Citywide Pour

Arlington’s Liberty Tavern is serving four Negroni inspired drinks priced at $15 each, including a Hennessy based Maison Rouge and a Campari and mezcal blend called After Hours.

Shaw’s Oribu built its version around Japanese gin and umeshu plum wine, and Adams Morgan newcomer La Merna is running a full four cocktail Negroni menu, including a Chicago style pour made with bourbon and malört.

A Fitting Way To Close Out September

Georgetown’s Fiola Mare rounds things out with an Espresso Negroni layering Kahlúa and three Italian amari. With the week landing at the seam between summer and fall, it gives DC drinkers a reason to try a bar they might otherwise pass by, and it rewards those willing to hop between neighborhoods over a single evening or across the full week.

Negroni Week runs through September 27 at participating restaurants across Capitol Hill, Shaw, Georgetown, Adams Morgan and Arlington. Pricing generally runs $12 to $18 per cocktail and varies by restaurant.

Most locations are walk-in friendly, though reservations are recommended at Pascual, Lutèce and La Merna during the week.
