This Veterans Day, November 11, 2025, many restaurants are showing their appreciation. Veterans and active-duty military can start their day at Denny’s (with multiple DC and area locations) with a free Original Grand Slam® (5 a.m. to noon). Later, the Hard Rock Cafe on E St NW in DC is offering a complimentary Classic Smash Burger for those with a valid ID. For a quick treat, Krispy Kreme (at locations like Dupont Circle) is giving back to veterans and active military by offering a free small hot or iced coffee and any doughnut.
Washington DC and Maryland Specials
Our local DMV establishments are stepping up! Founding Farmers (in Foggy Bottom and Mass Ave) and Farmers Fishers Bakers on the Georgetown Waterfront are offering a generous 50% off dine-in brunch, lunch, or dinner for veterans and active-duty military. In Maryland, the Atlas Restaurant Group (with acclaimed dining establishments primarily in Baltimore) offers the same 50% discount.
Celebrate with Upscale Dining Deals
If you are looking for a special celebration, several area restaurants have great offers. dLeña in Mount Vernon Square is extending its bottomless brunch service to Tuesday, November 11, from 10am to 3pm. Guests can choose bottomless food for $45 or bottomless food and drinks for $69 (last seating at 1pm). Morton’s The Steakhouse in Downtown DC provides a 20% discount for groups up to four. Fogo de Chão (with locations at The Wharf and Penn Quarter) gives active-duty and veteran guests 50% off their Full Churrasco meals (Nov 7–11). On November 9, 2025, McCormick and Schmick’s (in Arlington, VA and National Harbor, MD) invites veterans to enjoy a select entrée at half price. At The Melting Pot in Arlington, VA, veterans can enjoy a complimentary 4-course meal with the purchase of another on November 11. If you are looking for a special celebration, several area steakhouses and restaurants have great offers. STK Steakhouse (located in the Marriott Marquis Washington, D.C., at the Convention Center) is offering veterans and active-duty military personnel a complimentary entrée up to $69 on November 11.
STARR Restaurants Offer Signature Burgers
The STARR Restaurant group is honoring service members with free burgers during lunch on November 11! Le Diplomate on 14th Street is offering their Burger Américain on-the-house (11am-3pm). In the Union Market area, El Presidente is serving a free El Presidente Burger (11:30am-3pm). Downtown, The Occidental will treat veterans to their Occidental Burger (11am-2:30pm), and Osteria Mozza in Georgetown offers a complimentary Melrose Smash Burger (11am-3pm).
Even More Great Offers
The offers continue across the area. Stop by Starbucks, where veterans, active-duty servicemembers, and their spouses receive a free tall hot or iced coffee at their numerous locations. At Flight Club in Penn Quarter, veterans get a free menu item (up to $20) when purchasing Social Darts®. For a late-night treat, Insomnia Cookies (on H St NE and in Union Station) is giving a FREE Deluxe cookie with a $5 purchase (11/9 to 11/11).
For more casual options, Chipotle is offering a promotion at its many locations in the Washington DC area. On November 11, from 4 pm to 8 pm local time, guests who order an entrée in-restaurant and present a valid military ID will receive a second entrée for free. The deal applies to Chipotle bowls, burritos, salads, and taco entrees.
At Shake Shack, active military personnel and veterans can get a free Big Shack on November 11, while supplies last (a valid military ID is required). Nearby, The Greene Turtle at Nats Park will give veterans a free meal up to $15 with a valid ID on November 11. This offer is available for dine-in only at participating locations.
