If you’re someone in DC looking to boost your skincare routine, there’s a glowing reason to pay attention this May. Glowbar, the brand behind the expert-led, 30-minute facial that’s taken the East Coast by storm, is now making its mark in DC—now in Logan Circle, Georgetown, and Clarendon (coming soon). And they’re doing it with purpose.
Glowbar just announced its first-ever philanthropic partnership with the Melanoma Research Foundation. The two will team up for the 2025 #GetNaked campaign during Melanoma Awareness Month. The goal is to help over 5 million more Americans wear sunscreen daily by 2026.
Free Sunscreen, Expert Facials, and a Message that Matters
Glowbar is offering free on-the-spot EltaMD sunscreen applications all month long at its DC-area DMV studios—no appointment needed. Whether heading to lunch in Georgetown or out for a weekend stroll in Logan Circle, you can stop by and walk out protected and glowing.
Every appointment already ends with SPF, but this effort goes beyond facials. It’s part of Glowbar’s nationwide pledge to increase daily sunscreen use from 13.5% to 15%—potentially preventing thousands of melanoma cases.
Skincare Tips from a Celebrity Esthetician
This month, Glowbar clients will also receive a sun safety guide from Ian Michael Crumm, the 2025 #GetNaked spokesperson and celebrity esthetician. Crumm encourages clients to make monthly Glowbar facials, at-home skin checks, and annual dermatologist visits part of their skin health routine.
“Facials give you the glow, but a good dermatologist gives you peace of mind,” Crumm says. “It’s about prevention, consistency, and confidence.”
Where Skincare Meets Purpose
With over 500,000 facials delivered and counting, Glowbar has become a trusted name in fast, results-driven skincare. Founder Rachel Liverman, a third-generation esthetician, says this partnership is personal.
“Skin cancer is more common than people think,” Liverman says. “We have a platform to educate, protect, and care for people. That starts with SPF.”
