The former Latham Hotel site at 3000 M Street NW has a new reported ownership partnership, bringing renewed attention to a Georgetown hotel proposal that has remained on the neighborhood’s development watchlist for years.

The Transaction Adds A Partner To Thor’s Plans

Washington Business Journal’s October 9 report, summarized by the Washington DC Economic Partnership, puts the transaction at $76.1 million and names Modon Georgetown Holdings LLC as the buyer from a Thor affiliate. The summary describes the arrangement as a partnership that would allow Thor to continue advancing its proposed 67-room hotel. A property transaction marks progress, but it does not establish an opening date.

The Proposal Combines Rooms With Dining And Wellness

Thor’s official 3000 M Street project page describes a development with hotel, restaurant and retail space, plus meeting facilities, event areas, a spa and fitness center. A 2024 announcement with José Andrés Group introduced The Bazaar House hotel and membership-club concept. Those earlier details remain a proposal only.

The Address Could Serve A Neighborhood Stay

A completed hotel here would give visitors a base on Georgetown’s M Street corridor, with shopping and restaurants close at hand. That is the practical angle to watch as construction and operating details emerge. Thor’s corporate account is @thorequities.
