Tucked into the heart of Washington’s fashionable West End—steps from Georgetown and Dupont Circle—the Blue Duck Tavern at Park Hyatt Washington DC has quietly maintained its status as one of the city’s most refined and enduring dining institutions. Known for its approachable luxury, market-driven cuisine, and unassuming elegance, it is the rare restaurant that appeals equally to power players closing deals and couples seeking a moment of calm.
Whether you’re planning a one-on-one with a CEO, a celebratory dinner, or a wind-down cocktail in the Blue Duck Lounge, this is where D.C.’s insiders turn for high-touch hospitality without the spotlight.
Summer at Blue Duck Tavern: A Season of Taste and Art
This summer, Blue Duck Tavern has added another sophisticated layer to its already remarkable ambiance. Through October 30, 2025, Park Hyatt Washington DC is hosting a public exhibition of French artist Stéphane Koerwyn’s prêt ART porter collection—vivid aluminum sculptural dresses that blur the lines between fashion and fine art. The artwork is on view throughout the hotel’s public areas and suites, open to the public and available by appointment.
To mark the occasion, the culinary team has crafted the European Spring cocktail—a $24 sensory tribute to Koerwyn’s colorful creations, available exclusively in the restaurant and lounge during the exhibit’s run.
A Culinary Team Focused on Precision and Heart
Chef de Cuisine Andrew Cleverdon and Director of Culinary Jean-Claude Plihon bring decades of experience from Michelin-starred kitchens and top DC establishments to Blue Duck Tavern. Alongside Pastry Chef Colleen Murphy, known for her artistic dessert presentations and exclusive Hyatt collaborations, the team delivers ingredient-driven dishes with reverence and restraint.
Signature selections include:
- Slow Roasted Prime Rib with bourbon peppercorn sauce ($70)
- Wood Oven Roasted 40oz Roseda Farm Bone-In Ribeye with barrel-aged steak sauce ($225)
Both pair exquisitely with the newly launched Father’s Day Bourbon Flight—a trio of one-ounce pours from Eagle Rare, Michter’s, and Uncle Nearest 1856, priced at $28. This is a nod to the American spirit—elevated, storied, and served with intention.

Elegant Simplicity in Every Detail
Blue Duck Tavern offers breakfast, lunch, brunch, and dinner, with menus reflecting the best of Mid-Atlantic farms and fisheries. Its open kitchen—centered on a custom-designed Molteni range—brings the drama of preparation into the dining experience, while the handcrafted wood furnishings, including a 29-foot Windsor bench, lend a feeling of warm Americana.
For more relaxed occasions, the Blue Duck Lounge serves as a hidden gem. Expect Capitol Hill-inspired booths, rare teas from the Park Hyatt’s Tea Cellar, and one of DC’s most thoughtful wine and spirits programs.

The Restaurant That Has Stood the Test of Time
Blue Duck Tavern isn’t just a place to eat—it’s a place to arrive, reflect, and reconnect. It’s where moments happen—after meetings, before major life decisions, or simply to slow down and savor a bite that reminds you why you love this city.
Recognized by Michelin since 2017, honored by Forbes Travel Guide, and praised by Washingtonian, Zagat, and The Washington Post, Blue Duck Tavern continues to quietly shape the city’s luxury dining scene.
