We missed the invite, but here is what we know about the night at Oyamel.
Benny Blanco Launched F*ck Failure With José Andrés in Penn Quarter
On September 17, Grammy Award-winning producer Benny Blanco and Chef José Andrés hosted a book release party at Oyamel. The occasion was Blanco’s second book, Fck Failure*, published September 15 by Simon & Schuster. The Oyamel event page billed it as a one-night celebration. Guests were promised Oyamel classics, agave tastings, a live DJ, and a mariachi band. Every guest was also promised a copy of the book. Moreover, VIP ticket holders got early access to a reception with both hosts. Our invitation must have been lost in the mail!
Oyamel Is a Bib Gourmand Restaurant Built for Celebrations
The MICHELIN Guide lists Oyamel as a Bib Gourmand, praising its ceviche bar and regional Mexican dishes. And, did you know? Andrés now runs nearly 40 restaurants. Blanco’s book also debuted as the number one seller in Amazon’s Creativity category after his Jimmy Fallon appearance. Failure sells!
