Five Pasta Dishes Anchor the October Celebration
Just think: Spaghetti alla Carbonara, Cavatelli with Lamb Ragù, Ricotta Gnocchi al Pesto, Spaghetti alle Vongole, and tableside Cacio e Pepe. Amazing!
The DC menu lists the carbonara, made with guanciale, black pepper, egg, Parmigiano, and chili oil, at $26. The lamb cavatelli costs $30, the gnocchi with basil pesto, pine nuts, and hazelnut pangrattato costs $26, and the clam spaghetti with chili and garlic costs $31. Cacio e Pepe is $29 on the dinner menu and is prepared tableside indoors only.
The Location Puts a Pasta Dinner Steps from the White House
The restaurant sits at the corner of 14th and G Streets NW inside the Bank Building, one block from the White House, according to its DC location page. The 147-seat dining room features curved arched ceilings, heavy masonry columns, and Roman brick accents.
Aperitivo Hour runs daily from 2 to 7 p.m. at the bar and patio, with $10 house wine, $12 cocktails, and $12 small plates.
A $25 weekday lunch prix fixe runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Tuesdays bring a no corkage night for up to two 750 ml bottles or one magnum per reservation.
