Konterra Realty and USAN USAN will stage the free Good Booty Flea on Saturday, October 10, drawing more than 150 vintage sellers to the future downtown of a 1,400-acre development in Laurel, Maryland.
“British Car Boot Sale”-ish Lands in the Baltimore Washington Corridor
The inaugural flea runs from 11 am to 5 pm at 6800 Fashion Place in Laurel, taking its shape from the car boot sales common across the United Kingdom and Europe. USAN USAN hand-selected the sellers alongside curatorial partners Shop Made in DC, BMore Flea, Get Flee Marketplace and Vintage Vintage Vintage. Songbyrd Music House curates the live music. Food trucks, art and craft vendors fill out the site, and admission is free with an RSVP (below).
The Flea Doubles as a First Look at Konterra
The event is designed to give the public a first peek at Konterra, a 1,400-acre mixed-use community taking shape where the Intercounty Connector meets I-95, roughly 30 minutes from DC, Baltimore, Annapolis and Rockville. Konterra Realty and Gould Property Company plan townhomes, apartments, shopping, dining, entertainment, hospitality, offices and an extensive trail and park network. USAN USAN is the placemaking and public art organization behind the annual Umbrella Art Fair, FEMME Art Fair, Umbrella Photo Fair, REDEYE Night Market and Studio USAN. Muralist and designer Peter Chang founded it in 2023 with Ally Mumm, and the organization says its model of skipping commissions and building coalitions with nonprofit and for-profit arts supporters has moved $1 million to artists to date. That track record is the reason a first-year flea can open with 150 sellers already booked.
The Good Booty Flea runs Saturday, October 10, from 11 am to 5 pm at 6800 Fashion Place, Laurel, Maryland. Admission is free, though guests are asked to RSVP through Eventbrite. Vendor pricing is set by individual sellers and is not publicly listed.
