The finest American artisans are coming to DC — and you need to be there.

From April 22–26, 2026, the 2026 Smithsonian Craft Show returns to the iconic National Building Museum in Washington, DC, bringing together the country’s most celebrated handcrafted works under one magnificent roof. This is not a weekend market — this is a collector-level, internationally recognized showcase of American artistry spanning basketry, ceramics, glass, jewelry, leather, wearable art, wood, furniture, mixed media, and more. Juried by a rotating panel of experts who review hundreds of applications annually, every exhibiting artist earns their place here!

An Opening Night Worth Every Penny

The show kicks off Wednesday, April 22 with the Visionary Artist Reception and Award Presentations (4:45–6:00 PM), honoring two remarkable ceramic artists: Wayne Higby, named the 2026 Smithsonian Institution Visionary Artist for his breathtaking landscape-driven ceramic vessels, and Cristina Córdova, recipient of the Smithsonian Women’s Committee Delphi Award for her powerful figurative sculpture. The Preview Night Benefit Party follows from 6:00–9:00 PM with live music by DC-area singer Eliza Tebo, a cocktail buffet, and direct access to the artists. Preview Night tickets start at $300; Patron-level access including the reception runs $550.
