Marcus Samuelsson’s SLY Rooftop Sets the Stage for Halloween Above DC
Presented by MARCUS DC, SLY After Dark gives guests a chance to celebrate Halloween in a setting that feels distinctly Washington. From 7 to 11:30 p.m., the rooftop will welcome guests for an evening overlooking the city, with a premium open bar operating through 10 p.m. and unlimited stationed appetizers and desserts included with admission.
A live DJ will provide the soundtrack throughout the celebration, making this a compelling choice for those who prefer an organized Halloween event over navigating several crowded bars.
A $500 Costume Contest Gives Guests Another Reason to Dress Up
The evening’s centerpiece is a costume competition awarding $500 in cash to the night’s best look. Expect a festive rooftop atmosphere, music and photo opportunities against the Washington skyline.
Opened in 2025, SLY Rooftop was introduced as the first of three concepts from chef Marcus Samuelsson at The Morrow Hotel. Washingtonian’s opening coverage highlighted the venue’s panoramic views and drinks developed with chef Anthony Jones.
For another Halloween-themed outing with a very different atmosphere, Georgetown’s historic 1789 Restaurant is serving The Exorcist cocktail, offering a seasonal connection to one of Washington’s best-known film locations.
SLY Rooftop is located at The Morrow Hotel, 222 M St. NE, Washington, DC 20002, near the NoMa-Gallaudet U Metro station. Admission is listed at $100 before applicable ticketing fees. The Saturday, October 31, celebration begins at 7 p.m. and ends at 11:30 p.m., although some promotional descriptions mention midnight. Guests must be at least 21 years old.
