DC’s most anticipated fast-casual opening of 2026 is finally here — steps from Union Station.

Peruvian Brothers North Capitol: Lima Comes to DC

Peruvian Brothers North Capitol just opened its first standalone DC restaurant at 660 North Capitol Street NW. It opened April 20th, right outside the 1st Street West Exit of Union Station. Neighbors include the Dubliner, the National Guard Memorial Museum, the Postal Museum, and the Royal Sonesta Hotel. That corner storefront had been vacant since the building first opened over eight years ago (via PoPville). So yes — this opening was absolutely worth the wait!

Two Brothers, One Remarkable Story

Giuseppe and Mario Lanzone grew up in La Punta, a coastal community just outside Lima, Peru. Today, Giuseppe is a two-time U.S. Olympic rower and CEO. Meanwhile, Mario serves as Executive Chef, cooking from family recipes he’s carried since childhood. As Axios DC reports, the brothers were also early Bitcoin adopters — the first DC food truck to accept it, back in 2013. Furthermore, the Peruvian government has recognized them as official Marca Perú Ambassadors and “Gastro-Diplomats.” A sweeping mural by local artist JAHRU brings La Punta to life right inside the dining room.

Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, and Frozen Pisco Sours

The menu runs all day. Mornings start with ham and cheese croissants, egg scrambles, and fresh picarones. Then, lunch brings lomo saltado, Pan con Chicharrón sandwiches, and rotisserie chicken with yuca fries and plantains. You can order from three kiosks or sit down at a real table with real plates. As Eater DC covered, the 10-seat bar opens at 4 p.m. for frozen pisco sours and passionfruit pisco sour slushies. Additionally, Prince of Petworth at PoPville confirms that Alpaca Happy Hour is back — guests can meet alpacas right outside the restaurant!
