Beyond its galleries, Museum of the Bible is staging a full season of live theater at its 472-seat World Stage Theater, with Prince Caspian running through October 25 ahead of an original Christmas musical opening in November.

Prince Caspian Brings Narnia to the World Stage

The Logos Theatre’s live adaptation of Prince Caspian uses professional actors, elaborate costumes and large-scale creatures to tell the story of the Pevensie children helping Prince Caspian reclaim his throne.

Performances run through October 25, generally Thursdays at 2 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays at 2 and 7 p.m., and Sundays at 2 p.m., with a three-hour, 15-minute runtime including intermission. Tickets range from $35 for side balcony seating to $85 for Gold Circle seating.

A New Christmas Musical Follows in November

Beginning November 7, Silent Star replaces Prince Caspian with an original story set in Victorian London and Bethlehem, following four orphans who wish on a star on Christmas Eve and find themselves transported to the events surrounding the birth of Christ.

The production runs through December 6, with matinees Wednesday through Sunday, additional 7 p.m. shows on Fridays and Saturdays, tickets from $35 to $85, and a $10 backstage add-on for the final performance of each day.

The Theater Itself Is Part of the Draw

The 8,000-square-foot World Stage uses 17 high-output projectors and digital 3D mapping to extend scenery around the room rather than confining it to the stage. The museum is also hosting its Bible and America 250 speaker series this fall, with programs on September 27, October 4, October 11, November 9, November 22 and December 6.

Museum of the Bible’s World Stage Theater is in downtown DC. Ticket prices for both Prince Caspian and Silent Star run from $35 to $85 depending on seating, and both productions can be booked through the museum’s website.

Show updates also appear on the museum’s Instagram, and readers can follow The Washington Lobbyist for more of the city’s live performance calendar this fall and winter.
