Georgetown has been opening its most storied doors for nearly a century, and this April is no different.
The Oldest House Tour in America Returns April 18
On Saturday, April 18, 2026, St. John’s Episcopal Church hosts the 93rd Annual Georgetown House Tour, widely regarded as the oldest and most prestigious house tour in the country. Seven remarkable private residences — spanning Federal, Neo-Georgian, Victorian Romanesque Revival, and converted carriage house architecture — will be open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. for a self-guided exploration of Georgetown’s living history. Highlights include the Newton Baker House at 3017 N Street NW, once owned by Jacqueline Kennedy following President Kennedy’s assassination, and 3127 N Street NW, where actress Olivia Wilde grew up. Every home on this year’s tour carries a story worth telling! Complimentary admission to the Parish Tea is included with every ticket, served in Blake Hall at St. John’s from noon to 4:30 p.m., featuring tea sandwiches and desserts. Advance tickets are $70 per person and $75 at the door.
Kick Off the Weekend with the Patron’s Preview Party
The festivities begin Wednesday, April 15, with the Patron’s Preview Party at Prospect House, 3508 Prospect Street NW — a landmark built in 1788 and designed by William Thornton, architect of the US Capitol. Guests enjoy cocktails and hors d’oeuvres in a lavish garden setting from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Patron tickets start at $325 per person and include admission to the full house tour. On Thursday, April 16, Ateliers Jacob hosts an intimate design panel at their Georgetown showroom at 3330 Cady’s Alley NW, featuring renowned designer Barry Dixon from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Design panel tickets are $75 per person, or $140 bundled with the house tour — a genuine steal for serious design lovers!
A Fundraiser That Gives Back to DC
Every ticket sold supports St. John’s outreach programs serving homeless adults, unemployed residents, senior citizens, and low-income children across DC, with beneficiaries including Jubilee Jobs, Manna, Georgetown Ministry Center, and more. Proceeds have funded human service organizations across the DC metro area for decades, making this tour as meaningful as it is beautiful.
