Spring in DC means free music, art, and culture — and this year’s lineup does not disappoint.

Franklin Park transforms into one of DC’s most electric outdoor destinations on Sunday, April 12, 2026, when Jazz & Blossoms returns for a full day of live music, interactive art, Japanese cultural programming, and community celebration from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Presented by the DowntownDC Business Improvement District and Words Beats & Life, this free, family-friendly festival is an official event of the National Cherry Blossom Festival — and the lineup this year makes it a must-attend.

The Headliners Alone Are Worth the Trip

R&B chart-topper Tweet headlines alongside Oddisee, the acclaimed DMV-born hip-hop artist and producer with a national following, and Nabaté Isles, who brings a special tribute honoring the enduring legacy of Miles Davis. Additional performers will fill the afternoon and evening across soul, hip-hop, and jazz — a reflection of the cultural energy that makes Downtown DC unlike anywhere else. Beyond the stage, the park becomes a full-on playground: oversized lawn games, video games, face painting, caricature drawings, a podcast recording station, giant chess, Jenga, Uno, Double Dutch, an open dance floor, and a live African drum circle. Bring a blanket, stake your spot, and settle in!

Japanese Culture Takes Center Stage at the Blossom Festival

In honor of cherry blossom season, Jazz & Blossoms spotlights Japanese cultural experiences woven throughout the day, including origami workshops, a haiku writing station, Japanese lawn games, and hands-on stations for bonsai and cherry blossom LEGO® building. Live mural painting by Japanese artists adds another layer of creativity to the park’s atmosphere. Cherry blossom–inspired cocktails and food offerings round out the experience, giving festivalgoers one more reason to linger and explore the park at their own pace.

Register Free and Join the Celebration

Admission is completely free, and the festival is easily accessible via McPherson Square Metro Station — no car required. Attendees are encouraged to register in advance for updates and event information. Whether you are a longtime DC resident or visiting for the first time during peak blossom season, Jazz & Blossoms is the kind of afternoon that reminds you exactly why spring in this city is something special!
