The Italian marketplace everyone’s been asking about finally has a DC-area address.
A Two-Level Italian Market Opens in 2027
Eataly confirmed that Tysons Corner Center will host its first Greater Washington DC location in 2027. The two-level space will feature interior mall access and a dedicated exterior entrance. Seated restaurants, quick-service counters, and a specialty Italian market will fill both floors. Eataly currently operates 69 stores across 16 countries, including 20 in North America. For years, DC-area food lovers have traveled to New York or Chicago just to walk through one. That detour ends next year!
Eat, Shop, and Learn Under One Roof
Eataly’s entire model rests on three pillars: eat, shop, and learn. Guests can sit down for a full Italian dinner, grab an espresso at a quick-service counter, then browse aisles of imported olive oils, pastas, and wines — all from vetted Italian producers. Meanwhile, Macerich, the REIT behind Tysons Corner Center, partnered with Eataly to bring this concept to one of the nation’s highest-traffic shopping centers. Over 17.5 million visitors pass through annually. Eataly gives every one of them a reason to stay longer!
What This Means for the DC Food Scene
The DC area has long supported a thriving Italian dining scene, but it has never had an Eataly. This opening fills that gap entirely. Shoppers, tourists, and Northern Virginia residents will soon have access to an immersive Italian food hall right off the Beltway. Moreover, the store’s prominent position at Tysons Corner Center makes it a regional draw across the entire Metro DC corridor. Mark 2027 on your calendar now.
