Three blockbuster productions anchor the season. Pippin (featured image), Stephen Schwartz‘s musical masterpiece, runs May 12 through July 26, 2026, with Bob Fosse-style choreography reimagined for summer. Othello takes the stage May 19 through June 28, 2026, with Wendell Pierce headlining the searing tragedy. Then Moulin Rouge! The Musical sweeps in June 17 through 28, with Tony-winning bohemian spectacle. Tickets move fast. Reserve early. Plan ahead!

Smithsonian Exhibits and DC Music Anchor the Cultural Lineup

Beyond Broadway-style runs, programming stretches throughout the metro region. The Smithsonian honors an American icon with Bison: Standing Strong, on view through May 2029. Music fans can scout neighborhood live shows through Georgetown DC Music on June 20, 2026. On the last day of May, head to the National Museum of Women in the Arts hosts The Big Cake Exchange on the 31st, a playful art-meets-dessert affair. Bring an appetite. Bring a friend. DMV Neighborhood Festivals and Waterfront Parties Fill the Calendar

Local gatherings round out the slate. The Best of Arlington Party kicks off May 21, 2026, followed by the 17th Annual Taste of Del Ray on June 7. June 13 stacks a doubleheader: Porchfest Rhode Island Avenue turns stoops into stages, while The District Cup lands charity polo on the National Mall. Rosé on the River at District Winery follows June 14. On June 17, write a song live with Emma G at Cordelia Fishbar — part performance, part book reading, part songwriting workshop!

Free Summer Programming Lands at Reservoir District

For free, family-friendly summer programming, Reservoir District in Northwest DC delivers a packed lineup. The Second Fridays Music Series opens June 12 with Adrian Duke and The Rascality, followed by Tobago Bay Calypso on July 10, Taisha Estrada on August 14, and Nasim Siddeeq on September 11.

Reservoir Recharge Wellness Weekends bring free Pilates, yoga, and Zumba sessions throughout the summer. Ice Cream Socials hit June 19 and August 21, and the Reservoir Recess Family Field Day caps things off August 1. Eat well. Sip slowly. Stay late.
