June Kicks Off The Celebration With Founding Documents And Fight Night

The Archives Foundation hosts the Evening Benefit: Experience Taste of America during the Spirit of Independence Festival, running June 4 through 6 at the home of the Declaration of Independence. Then on June 14, history gets made at UFC Freedom 250 — the first professional sporting event ever staged on the White House South Lawn! Topuria versus Gaethje headlines the card, and the broadcast will be carried live on CBS and Paramount+.

Late June Brings Smoke, State Pride, And A Mile-Long Mall Spectacle

The Great American State Fair takes over the National Mall from June 25 through July 10, transforming the green expanse into a 16-day national exposition spanning the US Capitol to the Washington Monument. All 56 states and territories will showcase food, music, and regional tradition. Meanwhile, the Giant National Capital Barbecue Battle returns to Pennsylvania Avenue on June 27 and 28. July 4 Weekend Delivers The Biggest Birthday DC Has Ever Hosted

Independence weekend opens with A Capitol Fourth on July 3 from the West Lawn of the US Capitol, then peaks with the All-American Countdown 250 Ball at the Washington Hilton — a 3,000-guest black-tie gala counting down to midnight. On the Fourth, the National Independence Day Parade steps off Constitution Avenue at 11:45 AM. Floats roll. Bands play. Then the National Park Service Salute to America closes the day with the largest fireworks display in DC history!

Late Summer Roars With INDYCAR And Fall Brings The Patriot Games

The Freedom 250 Grand Prix makes history August 22 and 23 as the first INDYCAR race ever staged on the streets around the National Mall, free and open to the public. From September 1 through November 2, the Patriot Games bring 100 elite high school athletes to DC for a national competition. Book early. Plan thoughtfully. America turns 250 only once!
