Washington, DC’s Dupont Circle welcomes a luxurious new destination for food lovers and cocktail enthusiasts. Opening May 23, Casamara and Reynold’s debut inside the stylish new SIXTY Hotel (1337 Connecticut Ave NW), marking Scale Hospitality’s highly anticipated entrance into the DC dining scene.
Casamara, the hotel’s signature restaurant, blends sun-soaked Mediterranean flavors with sophisticated European design. Executive Chef Zachary Albertsen offers a vibrant menu that reflects the culinary traditions of Spain, France, Italy, and Greece. Dishes like Sardine Toast with avocado aioli, Branzino Crudo with basil and lemon, and the Double-Boned Iberico Pork Chop showcase the kitchen’s commitment to bold, coastal cuisine.
Handmade pastas like the spicy Octopus Casarecce and the delicate Ricotta Gnocchi with morels and spring peas deliver comfort and complexity. For diners seeking fresh seafood, rich textures, and clean Mediterranean ingredients, Casamara promises a memorable meal just steps from Dupont Circle.
The dining room itself invites guests to linger with checkered marble floors, rich earth tones, and a 54-foot tapestry hand-tufted in Spain. The 3,000-square-foot rooftop patio provides stunning neighborhood views and a refreshing backdrop for DC’s warm weather season.
Casamara’s cocktail list includes standout drinks like the Pepperoncini-tini, a briny, feta-garnished twist on the classic martini, and Donatella’s Kiss, a tequila and chili-spiced blend that brings southern Europe to your glass.
Just across the corner, Reynold’s (1320 18th St. NW) opens as an Americana-inspired cocktail bar crafted for late nights and unforgettable drinks. The bar’s dim lighting, wood-paneled walls, and art-filled interiors create an intimate retreat perfect for locals and visitors alike.
With an inventive martini program and large-format offerings like the French 750, Reynold’s emphasizes bold flavors and playful presentation. From the Ossetra Caviar and Dill Chips to the Mini Burgers with pepper jam, the small plate menu keeps guests sipping and snacking in style.
Chef Albertsen brings experience and heart to both venues. “DC has such a great food scene,” he says. “We want Casamara and Reynold’s to feel both familiar and fresh—celebrating local produce and introducing something exciting.”
