A Michelin-listed French bistro in DC throws open its doors for an evening straight out of Paris.
Five Years of Sommelier-Driven Hospitality in Georgetown
On Tuesday, May 12, 2026, Apéro celebrates its 5th Anniversary with a true Parisian apéro hosted by Advanced Sommelier and owner Elli Benchimol. The east Georgetown bistro sits along a quiet, row-home-lined block at 2622 P Street NW, and it has earned Michelin recognition every year since opening. Beyond Michelin, Apéro holds Wine Spectator’s Grand Award for 2024 and 2025, along with RAMW’s Best Wine Program.
Originally from San Francisco wine country, Benchimol has spent two decades mentoring the DC tasting community, and Apéro is the joyful payoff of that work.
A Parisian Apéro Tradition Reimagined for DC
The apéro is a cherished French ritual, a pre-dinner pause for light bites, sparkling pours, and unhurried conversation. For one night, that ritual takes over Georgetown! At the heart of the menu is Executive Chef Jenn Castaneda-Jones, formerly of the legendary Marcel’s and a 2024 RAMMYS Rising Culinary Star finalist, who is crafting the canapés.
Throughout the evening, the Caviar Girl roams the room with caviar and accoutrements. Guests sip from rare large-format bottles. Share a fun secret-style pour.
Rare Pours, Caviar, and a Night in Paris Photo Booth

In addition, guests will enjoy 3L Yellow & Green Chartreuse and a Bonbonne of Darroze 12-Year Armagnac, with Hugo and Apéro Spritz aperitivos rounding out the bar. To finish the night, a “Night in Paris” Photo Booth captures every toast. Tickets start at $195, all inclusive!
