Spring Night Market Features 25+ Chefs and a Baijiu Bar
The 3rd Annual Spring Night Market lands on Thursday, May 14, from 5:30 to 10:30 PM. Michelin-honored Tiger Fork and rooftop bar Hi-Lawn take over Union Market’s full rooftop and Dock5 event space. Together, they host more than two dozen food vendors, artisan pop-ups, cultural performances, and an open-air Baijiu + Sake Bar. Illuminated lanterns, DJ sets, and capacity for 1,000 guests make this DC’s premier celebration of National AAPI Heritage Month. Entry is just $5 on Eventbrite — all food and drinks are sold à la carte!
Chef Simon Lam Headlines the Spring Night Market Lineup
Executive Chef Simon Lam brings Hong Kong street food and dim sum alongside a star-studded guest roster. Chai Pani, Canton Disco, CHIKO, Daikaya, CHIBOO, Dan Dan Boy, Laoban Dumplings, TOIMOI Bakery, Love Makoto, Yume Asian Fusion, Yunnan by Potomac, Gwenie’s Pastries, and more fill the stalls. Additionally, local artisans sell jewelry, ceramics, and original artwork throughout the evening. Rarely does one DC night offer this many kitchens under one sky!
Lion Dancing, Baijiu, and a Dumpling Contest Round Out the Fun
The Spring Night Market’s dedicated Baijiu + Sake Bar pours China’s national spirit in four aroma styles — rice, light, strong, and sauce. Light aromas work beautifully in cocktails; strong and sauce profiles rival whiskey in depth. Meanwhile, Shaolin Hung Fut Kung Fu School performs traditional lion dancing. Face painters, a Laoban-sponsored Dumpling Eating Competition, and live DJs keep the night moving from start to finish. Furthermore, DC’s best rooftop bars rarely pull off a cultural event at this scale.
