Washington’s most iconic street is about to become its biggest dance floor.

A Block Party Unlike Anything DC Has Seen Before

On April 18, Project Glow and Black Book Records take over 600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW for a one-day outdoor dance music takeover headlined by Grammy-nominated DJ and producer Chris Lake. Running from 4 to 10 PM in the shadow of the National Gallery of Art and National Archives, this is the first-ever electronic music event on Pennsylvania Avenue — and organizers expect up to 10,000 fans to show up for it. With support from JOY (Anonymous), Clüb De Combat, Nadia, and a full Homegrown Stage lineup featuring Darling Cool, Chaseonaux, House of JANE, and B&E, the bill is stacked from open to close. The event is rain-or-shine and 18+.

Chris Lake and the History Behind This Moment

Lake is a longtime collaborator with Glow, having played every major venue in the company’s history from Fur Nightclub and Soundcheck to Echostage and Project Glow itself. The producer behind the floor-shaking tracks “Turn off the Lights” and “Somebody” and the acclaimed album “Chemistry” is now the first artist Glow has ever booked on Penn Ave. For Glow founder Pete Kalamoutsos — who quietly transformed DC into one of America’s premier dance music cities by booking Tiësto, Armin van Buuren, and David Guetta before opening Echostage in 2012 — this block party is a full-circle moment!
