Fairmont Washington DC Georgetown will host its 15th annual Howl-O-Ween on Thursday, October 29, 2026, bringing costumed dogs and their people to the Courtyard Bar for a free neighborhood gathering. The Washington Lobbyist’s Michael Woestehoff will serve as a costume-contest judge.

Dogs And Their People Share The Costume Spotlight

The hotel’s announcement and Destination DC event listing give the gathering a 6 to 7.30 p.m. schedule, with prizes awarded at 7 p.m. Categories include most creative, most adorable and funniest, plus honorable mentions. Announced prizes include overnight stays, dinners and more.

A coordinated dog-and-human costume can make the outing especially fun, but choose something that lets your dog move and see comfortably.

Georgie Welcomes Guests With Treats And Refreshments

Fairmont’s canine ambassador, Georgie, is the event’s host. The hotel says its pastry team will provide peanut butter dog biscuits, with water coolers placed around the courtyard. People can purchase Halloween-themed cocktails, and Puptails will be available for dogs. Check treat ingredients if your dog has dietary restrictions, and plan a shorter visit if crowds or costumes make your companion uneasy.

A Familiar Hotel Courtyard Becomes A Neighborhood Gathering

This is an approachable outing for local dog owners, visiting families traveling with a pet and neighbors who enjoy creative costumes.
