Hotel Washington has secured new financing from Madison Realty Capital and Newbond Holdings, placing its 326-room downtown property back in the spotlight for travelers who want a White House-area base with dining and a rooftop destination.
The Loan Supports An Existing Downtown Hotel
The lenders’ October 7, 2026 announcement identifies the borrower as a joint venture between Schulte Hospitality Group and an institutional investment partner. Schulte operates the hotel directly. The announcement says the loan supports the ownership group’s next business phase, but it does not give a loan amount or announce a new renovation.
The Rooftop Gives Locals A Reason To Visit
The hotel combines overnight stays with VUE on the 11th floor, Fireclay’s open-fire cooking and a full-service spa. That mix makes it relevant to residents planning dinner or drinks as well as guests comparing downtown hotels. Capdex’s financing coverage places the property beside the Treasury and one block from the White House.
Its Original Name Connects The Stay To DC History
The property opened in 1917, later operated as the W Washington DC and returned to its original name after the ownership group’s 2021 acquisition, according to the lenders.
