On Sunday, May 17, Fairmont Washington, DC, Georgetown opens its doors at 11:30am for one of the capital’s most talked-about annual events: a seated brunch collaboration with Uncle Nearest Premium Whiskey. The star of the afternoon is Victoria Eady Butler — Master Blender and great-great-granddaughter of Nearest Green, the man credited with teaching Jack Daniel how to distill. Guests are greeted in the courtyard with an Uncle Nearest Grown Folk Mimosa before settling in at 12:15pm for a three-course menu paired with signature cocktails crafted by Uncle Nearest Mixologist Akinde.
A Three-Course Menu Worth Savoring
Executive Chef Jaime Montes de Oca and Executive Pastry Chef Lyndsey Barton deliver a menu that earns its price tag. The first course opens with a 1884 and Smoked Avocado Tartine — country bread, farm egg, radish, and micro sprouts alongside an Uncle Nearest cocktail. The second brings Maryland Crab Cake and Black Angus Short Rib with new potato hash, grilled asparagus, and 1956 Grain Mustard Butter. Dessert rounds out the experience with Coconut Plant Pot, Uncle Nearest Soaked Chocolate Cake, and a whiskey flight that includes Fairmont’s own exclusive single barrel bottling!
