Vinoteca Opens Outdoor ‘Plaza’ for the Season

New Patio Menu, Shareable Flatbreads, Boozy Wine Slushies, Food-Friendly Wines and of Course Bocce

One of U Street’s favorite outdoor gathering spots, Vinoteca has opened its lively front patio and charming backyard Plaza Bar for Washingtonians looking to enjoy the beautiful warm weather.

Reminiscent of a European courtyard, Vinoteca’s just-reopened Plaza offers a new outdoor patio menu, frozen wine-based slushies, refreshing food-friendly wines, and its popular oyster-shell bocce court.

  • Five shareable Flatbreads; Prosciutto with Chimichurri; Shrimp with Tomatillo; Chorizo and Housemade Ricotta; Skirt Steak with Manchego; and the Veggie with Mozzarella.

Vinoteca offers happy hour every day (Tuesday-Sunday) on the Plaza from 5 to 7 p.m.with $5 wines, $5 Peronis and discounted small plates. Brunch is also served on the Plaza and sidewalk patio on Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

HINT: There are a few double magnums of rosé, featuring three liters of Tavel Rosé from the famed Chateau Trinquevedel ($200/3L). The Tavel appellation is uniquely the only appellation in France which is only allowed to produce rosé.
