Two New Shake Shacks to Appear in DC Area by End of 2014

Soon, DC will be surrounded by two new critically acclaimed, modern day “roadside” burger stands.

New York, NY (September 6, 2013)Shake Shack will deepen its ties to the Washington, DC metropolitan area by adding two new locations, one in Union Station and the other in Tysons Corner. Both Shacks are slated to open in mid 2014.

Prominently located in the vibrant Capitol Hill neighborhood, Shake Shack Union Station will be in the original West Hall of the restored and revitalized landmark building, which dates back to 1907. Modeled in the monumental Beaux-Arts style, Union Station is now one of the largest and busiest multi-modal transportation hubs in the United States serving AMTRAK, regional commuter trains and the Washington Metro.

Shake Shack Tysons Corner will be located in the heart of Northern Virginia, between the community of McLean and the town of Vienna, along the Capital Beltway (Interstate 495). It will be a stand-alone Shack on an elevated plaza with lush green spaces and gardens, and situated next to the Tysons Corner Center mall. The area is quickly becoming a focal point for Greater DC with new residential and office towers, a luxury hotel, and ample shopping and dining options. The Shack will be within walking distance to the newly expanded Washington Metro Silver Line, connecting Tysons, Reston, Herndon, and the Dulles Airport areas.
