It was a pleasant surprise to know that Front Royal Virginia is only an hour and a half drive away from Washington, DC, and has many great places to eat and things to do in their downtown historic Main Street. It is also the gateway to the Shenandoah National Park. Check out my quick video for some recommendations.
You must go to the Talk of the Mountain Seafood for crabcakes, great wines, and bites at Element. Enjoy something sweet at Down Home Comfort Bakery. A local spot for lunch is Spelunkers and PaveMint. Stay at the new TownePlace Suites by Marriott (Full in-room kitchens and nice gym). Grab a beer and a tour at the Front Royal Brewing Company and take home a bottle of locally sourced Saga mead.
Take out those frustrations and work on your aim at the Shenandoah Valley Axe Throwing Co or rent a canoe from Front Royal Outdoors for a relaxing weekend on the river.
What a nice quick getaway from Washington, DC! All great things to do and eat in Front Royal this weekend. Learn more about what to do and see at discoverfrontroyal.com.
