McClure, who will unveil a new Pembroke menu this fall, was most recently the Chef de Cuisine at the acclaimed Le Diplomate on 14th Street. Previously, he held Executive Chef roles at Brothers and Sisters at The Line Hotel, Brabo by Robert Wiedmaier in The Lorien Hotel and was the Executive Sous Chef at Vidalia Restaurant, all in the Washington, D.C. metro area.
McClure, a native of upstate New York, moved to D.C. in 2004 in search of access to an elevated, vibrant culinary market where he could grow his skills as a young chef.
He is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park and in his free time enjoys hanging with his 6-year-old son and picking up monthly house DJing gigs at venues around the city.
“I am honored to join The Pembroke at this exciting moment in its brief history and look to make my mark, serve some excellent food and help take this special place to the next level,” McClure says of his new role.
The Dupont Circle General Manager Joel Freyberg is equally excited about Harper’s addition to the team. “It was very important that we found a chef who could foster The Pembroke’s mission of providing expertly curated farm-to-table fare with global influence,” Freyberg says. “We believe Chef McClure is the perfect person to take on this role.”
