Taco Bamba Settles in Permanently in Chinatown and Will Open Friday April 6, 2018

Chef Victor Albisu will open Taco Bamba’s first DC location after a quick renovation from lunch counter to a permanent location in Chinatown, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days a week. There will also be a patio. The renovation was lead by the SWATCHROOM design team.

The menu at Taco Bamba Chinatown has been bolstered with The Royale with Cheese, a burger patty seared on the griddle, topped with Chihuahua cheese, flipped into a flour tortilla and topped with lettuce and a thousand island dressing made with mezcal. The Chivito Torta carries on the spirit of Del Campo, offering a version of the restaurant’s infamous Argentine sandwich to tide chivito lovers over till the restaurant returns in a new location. A chile relleno stuffed with suadero-style house-smoked brisket is topped with Taco Bamba’s version of classic nacho cheese.

A reinvigorated cocktail program sees longtime beverage director Amin Seddiq and service director Michael Iglesias collaborating on a drinks list that is sure to make Taco Bamba an under-the-radar entrant on the list of best bars in Chinatown.

Taco Bamba. 777 I St. NW, Washington, DC 20001. (202) 289-7377.

*Albisu’s Taqueria will also expand to the University Mall across from George Mason University this Fall.
