Chef Johnny Spero and the team at Reverie (Tock) are excited to reopen their doors again in Georgetown. After a multiple-month hiatus, the hidden gem of Georgetown will reopen with an evolved tasting menu experience with a heavy focus on vegetables and seafood.
While favorites such as the duck and the beloved burger will remain, a fresh new menu will allow guests to relax and enjoy the journey that the team has prepared for them in a safe, socially distant environment. This new format allows Spero and team to do what they do best, have fun and show their love for their craft and their guests.
The evolved offering spotlights the core of what Reverie was originally designed to be – a fluid and approachable escape akin to a dinner party in Chef’s home.
Highlights of the new menu reflect his personal journey, such as the Madai with spruce, kumquat and smoked olive oil – prepared in the Japanese omakase style; Lobster with walnut ajo blanco, walnut miso/seaweed vinegar; and the Squash Consomme served with fresh produce from Karma Farms just five minutes from where Spero grew up.

As a Baltimore County, Maryland native, Spero was exposed early to his first love, seafood. While working and traveling in Japan and Spain, he further honed his skills and appreciation for a wide variety of fish, shellfish and other oceanic delicacies.
A skilled pastry chef as well, Spero also constructs complex desserts that complement the savory side of the menu with consistent finesse and execution. Birch Ice Cream made from birch syrup from local farmer Drew Van Lear of Great Greens, gives a nostalgic flavor of campfires and summer nights, while the Roasted Hay Caramel is an unexpected and aromatic sweet finish to a memorable meal.
Reverie is located at 3201 Cherry Hill Lane, NW, Washington, DC, and is open Tuesday – Saturday, 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm (closed Sunday and Monday).
