Pink Jams’ Launch Party

Washington, DC (September 21, 2011) – On Tuesday, Dirty Bar, DC’s newest hotspot, hosted a very pink affair to launch Pink Rocks the Runway.

On October 21, 2011, Pink Rocks the Runway will feature 14 young survivor women in pink couture designs created by some of DC’s hottest local designers.  Our fashion headliner, Christian Siriano, will show his entire Spring 2012 collection exactly as it appears at New York Fashion Week. Never before has a celebrity designer brought an entire collection to DC.

The event, Pink Rocks the Runway, combines awareness, live music, and some incredible fashion. In addition to an incredible couture show, young women (all diagnosed before they were 40) will be modeling pink gowns designed especially for this event.  Polished guys from the Capitol, athletes and those on the DC scene, will also walk the runway in support of breast cancer awareness.

Several current DC United players and some local actors, Washington Redskin players, DC United players are on board for this event, so don’t miss out.

At the conclusion of the event, Pink Jams! will provide a special grant to the Capital Breast Care Center in support of their important work. The Capital Breast Care Center, chosen as the 2011 community grant recipient, works to provide women in the Washington, DC area with mammograms and health screenings regardless of their ability to pay. Currently, the CBCC is diagnosing breast cancer at two times the national rate.
