Occasions Caterers Launches Drive-Thru Mobile Marketplace

During a time when shopping for healthy food is challenging during the time of the coronavirus, Occasions Caterers is launching a convenient drive-through Mobile Market to ease the stress. Every Tuesday and Thursday, the top-tier catering company offers local produce, prepared foods, and beverages in various neighborhoods around the city.

Support Your Local Farm

Featuring local, farm vegetable and dairy boxes, family-style prepared meals, wine, beer, spirits, and fresh-cut flowers from LynnVale, the Mobile Market acts as a one-stop-shop for your grocery needs.

Occasions Caterers’ Mobile Market supports 4P Foods’ small network farms including Lyon Farms, Van Dessel Farm, Lewis Nursery, Valley Farming, Polyface Farm, and Mount Crawford Creamery, and provides individuals and families with safe access to food.

Locations

Beginning Thursday, April 16, and then every subsequent Thursday, the mobile market starts in Cleveland Park and Woodley Park, Spring Valley, Georgetown and Chevy Chase, Md. On Tuesdays, locations like Logan Circle and Bloomingdale/Shaw, Park View, and Brookland are next. Place an order 48 hours prior, and pick-up locations will be drive-through friendly and staffed by gloved and masked attendants to make for no-contact pick-ups.

What’s Inside

Vegetable boxes will change vary with the season and might include asparagus, beets, rainbow carrots, strawberries, Japanese potatoes, butterhead lettuce, baby bok choy, herbs, and more.

Prices range from $45-$69 depending on size. Dairy boxes feature local cheeses, eggs, milk, yogurt, and more. Updates – including location, items available, and more – are found on the Occasions Caterers’ Instagram account @occasionscaterers and their website occasionscaterers.com.

Giving Back

In addition to providing convenient and healthy food to home consumers, Occasions Caterers proudly launches the “Occasions Giving Kitchen, a fundraising initiative that feeds underserved and at-risk communities throughout the region.

Proceeds from the home meal kits and the Mobile Market funds the Giving Kitchen program.
