Mintwood Place Debuts A New Family Meal Menu – Available Five Days A Week

Mintwood Place in Adams Morgan is pleased to announce the addition of a new Family Meal menu, which is easy on the wallet and perfect for enjoying with loved ones and friends. The three-course, family-style feast is priced at $160 (tax and gratuity not included) and offers guests a rotating list of five nibbles & starters, three entrées, two sides and five seasonal desserts to share prepared by Chef de Cuisine Matthew Cockrell.

A native of Vienna, Virginia, Chef de Cuisine Matthew Cockrell discovered his love for cooking at an early age. He has been working in restaurants in various capacities since the age of thirteen and supported himself this way through East Carolina University, graduating with an English degree. In due time, however, he had three culinary degrees from Stratford University, and after working in several kitchens, found himself the youngest sous chef to serve at La Chaumiere, a DC landmark for classic French cuisine.

In 2014, Cockrell was appointed executive sous chef at Stephen Starr’s Le Diplomate. He would serve at the restaurant for three years before being named chef de cuisine at Mintwood Place in 2017. Under his direction the restaurant was named one of the “100 Very Best Restaurants” by Washingtonian magazine in January 2018 and 2019.

The Family Meal menu at Mintwood Place is available Tuesday through Thursday, from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.; Friday, from 5:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. and Sunday, from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. The full menu for the next four weeks is listed below.
