Lloyd Dobler Effect to Perform at W Hotel for Sandy

Washington, DC (November 28, 2012) – Tonight from 9pm to Midnight, the Lloyd Dobler Effect Band will perform at the P.O.V. Lounge in the W Hotel to benefit Hurricane Sandy relief efforts. This event has partnered with Robin Hood, a New York-based charity, who has pledged to continue to provide both immediate and long-term emergency aid to help the region and its residents get back on their feet.

In an effort to help fellow New Yorkers and those deeply affected by Hurricane Sandy, Starwood’s St. Regis Hotels & Resorts and W Hotels Worldwide will rally local communities around the world through events and fundraising initiatives over the next two weeks. The brands will also donate funds, in addition to money raised by its various properties all over the world, toward relief efforts.

W Hotels across the country are rallying to help lend their support. W Hotels in Atlanta, Chicago, Hoboken, Scottsdale, Los Angeles and more are lending their support. St. Regis Hotels & Resorts across the United States come together to offer their support. The St. Regis Washington D.C. will donate $1 for each glass of wine and cocktail, as well as a $2 donation from a specially created cocktail for the fundraiser. The St. Regis Hotels & Resorts and W Hotels Worldwide donation to Robin Hood Relief is the latest in hurricane relief efforts from Starwood. They have committed to Donating $150,000 to The Robin Hood Hurricane Sandy Relief Fund. The company also announced that Starwood Preferred Guest will match points donations made to the American Red Cross through November 30th. Donations start at 2,000 SPG points.
