Washington, DC (April 18, 2015) – On Saturday March 28th, the 28th Annual Leukemia Ball was hosted at the Washington Convention Center. Hosting over 2,000 attendees, the event raised more than $3.13 million for LLS’s mission.
Since 1988, the annual Leukemia Ball has raised nearly $56 million for the fight against leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease, and myeloma. Each year, teams of dedicated volunteers have exceeded all goals and expectations, making the Leukemia Ball one of the largest non-political black-tie event in Washington, DC.
This year, featured spectacular entertainment from Michael Cavanaugh and Howie Mandel, and was emceed by ESPN’s Lindsay Czarniak and NBC’s Craig Melvin.

LLS currently has 61 chapters across the United States and Canada which together fund over $71.4 million annually on research & patient services.
During the ball, American Airlines generously provided amazing travel packages during the electric live-auction. Some of these travel packages included trips to the Los Angeles W Hotel, St. James’s Club Resort and Verandah Resort in Antiqua, Renaissance Paris Arc de Triomphe Hotel, Marriott Scottsdale Camelback Inn Resort & Spa, JW Marriott in Santo Domingo, Andaz hotel in Savannah, The Ritz-Carlton Laguna Niguel, Amsterdam Marriott Hotel, Cypress Pointe Resort at Lake Buena Vista.
Local standout favorite were also on the auction block. These included; Salamander Resort, The Inn at Little Washington, Hotel Hershey, Omni Bedford Springs Resort & Spa, Hotel Monaco Alexandria, Park Hyatt Washington, Washington Marriott Wardman Park, Gaylord National Resort, Hyatt Hotels, Fairmont Washington DC, Goodstone Inn & Restaurant, Marriott Baltimore Waterfront Hotel, Four Seasons Hotel – Baltimore, and The Hay Adams.
