HyperVocal Hosts Piano Fighter Elew

Elew cagefights "Sweet Home Alabama" on the piano.

Washington, DC (November 4, 2011) – On Thursday, founders Slade Sohmer and Lee Brenner introduced DC to their smart, snarky, and sophisticated intelligent news portal called Hypervocal.

From their site, they say that HyperVocal is an all-encompassing home page with a community feel. It’s a news curator of what’s relevant and topical. The site is a growing interconnected network of blogs from bright, young minds from around the world. It’s a smart, witty editorial team churning out timely original text, audio and video content.

Powerful and agressive, Elew is really a sight to be seen when performing.

Hosted at the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) office on 9th and F Street NW, they brought piano fighter ELEW, a modern day pop artist and musical revolutionary.

ELEW has a unique sound which is an inspired melding of ragtime, rock and pop that he calls Rockjazz. It is definitely something to be seen, as he de-constructively cagefights familiar and popular songs from the likes of Coldplay to Lynyrd Skynyrd.

This event benefitted the travelling music project called Musicians On Call, which brings live and recorded music to the bedsides of patients in healthcare facilities. Since 1999, they have performed for over 250,000 individuals and counting, proving that music does have healing powers.

They also were supporting Pencils of Promise, which builds schools in the developing world and trains young leaders to take action at home and abroad.

This event was put together by PR powerhouse, BrandLinkDC, a full-service public relations, events and marketing agency based in Washington, DC, specializing in the luxury marketplace.
