GETAWAY: Edward Hopper and The Jefferson Hotel

Quick trip package offered in Richmond, Virginia beginning in late October

Edward Hopper and the American Hotel will premiere at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts on October 26 – the only east coast venue for this major loan exhibition.

[Hey! I want to let you know about a tasting event at NatGeo on Tuesday, December 3, 2019. Tickets are 20% off with my promo code BZK20.]

This collection of the realist paintings by one of the country’s best known 20th-century artists explores hotel consciousness and cultural landscape through iconic works featuring hotels, motels, and other hospitality settings.   The exhibition also includes rarely seen diaries written by Hopper’s wife, Josephine, which were only recently made available to the public.

In partnership with VMFA, The Jefferson Hotel will offer an Edward Hopper and The American Hotel Package to include a choice of premier or grand premier guest room, traditional Southern breakfast for two, breakfast gratuity, two tickets to VMFA exhibit, valet parking and complimentary transportation to and from VMFA.  Package rates are from $315 per room, per night for two adults.

The package will be valid from October 26, 2019 – February 23, 2020, excluding December 31, 2019, and is subject to availability and to change without notice. Taxes are additional. Advance reservations are required and can be made by calling (800) 424-8014 or on-line at www.jeffersonhotel.com.
