(Washington, DC) – Renaissance Dupont Circle Hotel welcomes back FESTIVUS. While staying true to the holiday spirit of giving, guests can celebrate the holiday parody famous from the very popular 90’s TV show featuring America’s favorite quartet of characters, Jerry, Elaine, George and Kramer.
[Hey! On Sunday, December 8, 2019, 2941 Restaurant will host a Decadence Dinner. Order a four-course ($100 or $175 w/ wine pairing), six-course ($150 or $250 w/ wine pairing) or eight-course tasting menu ($200 or $325 w/ wine pairing), which will be available exclusively, from 4-8 pm.]
During the month of December, guests are encouraged to join in on the fun and revel in “A Festivus for the rest of us,” (aluminum pole and all.)
Kicking off the season, Executive Chef Devon Capilli will create daily specials, including risotto balls, lobster bisque shooters, fried chicken bites and most off all, keeping with the Festivus tradition, classic meatloaf! Water these savory dishes down with a Junior Mint cocktail, a White Cosmo, or a fan favorite, The Pez, a sweet and sour mix of Bacardi and Chambord served on the rocks.
Fans of the classic show will immediately recognize and appreciate Renaissance Dupont Circle’s style and spin on the Festivus four main components:
“The Festivus Pole of Miracles”
When visiting our interpretation of the classic Festivus Pole, guests have the opportunity to make a wish come true this season by donating to Children’s Miracle Network. Guests are encouraged to pick an envelope from the Festivus pole, donate and receive fresh baked goodies as a thank you.
“The Festivus Miracle”
In the spirit of holiday giving, the hotel hopes to create small “miracles” this season. Throughout the month of December, a portion of proceeds from Festivus beverage and food specials, in addition to all donations collected from the Festivus Giving Pole, will be given to Children’s Miracle Network.
“Airing of Grievances”
Instead of airing grievances, the hotel has created a special wall, located in the lobby, to encourage guests to answer “How Could You Make the World a Better Place?” and to post their “grievances” on the wall.
“Feats of Strength”
A Festivus celebration is certainly not complete without a test of strength. Guests can show us their strength in with a custom carnival high-striker. In the words of Frank, “Lets Rumble!”
