Washington, DC Mayor Muriel Bowser announced approving phase two reopening in the District beginning on Monday, June 22nd.
Bantam King and Daikaya in Chinatown have elected to slowly and safely proceed. Limited indoor dining experiences are now offered while respecting and enforcing social distancing and other set guidelines.
Washington DC’s favorite chicken-centric Japanese eatery Bantam King is reopening a limited portion of their indoor dining room to guests so that they are able to indulge in the full menu including some of their favorites such as a selection of their signature chicken ramen, gyoza, fried chicken, rice with chicken drippings, and more! Celebrated Sapporo-style ramen shop and Daikaya Group’s flagship Daikaya has reopened offering a limited dine-in experience featuring their regular menu with signature Sapporo-style ramen selections and gyoza, as well as an assortment of creative small plates from Chef Katsuya Fukushima and team.
You will have the ability to place orders through QR codes set up at each table to ensure minimal contact, in addition to complimentary hand sanitizer. Reservations will not be available at Daikaya 1F – walk-ins welcome.
Located just above Daikaya’s ramen shop, Daikaya The Izakaya 2F will be reopening for the first time since mid-March offering Sapporo-style ramen selections from Daikaya 1F and will also be offering up a special menu from Chef Katsuya Fukushima and team including an assortment of otsumami such as Takowasabi, Hotaruika, Honey Umaboshi, and Natto Kimchi, to name a few.
Grilled items are set to include Avocado, Okra, Shiitake, Zucchini, and Scallop. Rice balls including Nasu Aburamiso, and a selection of small plates including Chawanmushi, Fried Garlic, and Pee Wee with Mentaiko-Yogurt. Popular Sapporo-style ramen shop Haikan in Shaw has opened up a portion of their outdoor patio dining space beginning the May 29th. A limited menu will be available including rotating otsumami – or quick Japanese snacks – specials that pair well with drinks. Diners will be required to sit at least six feet apart, and all tables will be wiped down and disinfected before and after each seating. This information will be updated as received.
