As a restaurant, travel and hospitality writer, it has been difficult to share stories or promotions that small businesses and national chains are running due to the Coronavirus pandemic here in Washington DC.
However, as we’ve seen throughout these weeks, small businesses, hotels, and restaurants affected by the Coronavirus in DC are stepping up to help their local community and especially their employees.
Below is a list of great affordable takeout options, and some DC businesses who are combating the coronavirus head-on.
A great way to support small businesses and restaurants is to first call direct and place an order. You can also use various mobile app devices that make it easy to order online for pick up or delivery. These are GrubHub, UberEats, TryCaviar, and more.
And, many of these restaurants are now allowed to provide beer and cocktails to-go, so that may help when you are hosting those online happy hour meetups.
Ballston, Georgetown – Lunch Satellite Drop Zones offered from Taco Bamba. Monday-Friday, Taco Bamba will deliver their menu to zones in Ballston, Fair Lakes, Pentagon Row and Georgetown at 11:30 am and 12:30 pm. Clyde’s Restaurant Group is partnering with KNEAD Hospitality + Design launching Food it Forward, an initiative to support the hard-hit restaurant industry and provide quality food to vulnerable populations in the DMV.
