In partnership with the National Cherry Blossom Festival, Carpe DC Food Tours is returning with the very popular Tastes of Spring Cherry Blossom Food Crawl!

This season’s official, self-guided culinary excursion offers a brand new, second location where food lovers can travel through history, tasting the foods that have shaped the area’s local culture. Guests may choose from two unique experiences:

Back by popular demand, guests can learn about Penn Quarter’s rich and storied past while choosing food crawl tastings from 10 local restaurants including National Cherry Blossom Festival “Cherry Picks” and local favorites like Ottoman Taverna, Capital City Brewery and Chinatown Coffee.

New this year, Carpe DC is launching the Alexandria Tastes of Spring Cherry Blossom Food Crawl as a kickoff to their new Boutique Old Town Food Tour.

While the Cherry Blossom Food Crawl is SELF-GUIDED and focuses on the many flavors Old Town has to offer, the Boutique Old Town Food Tour is a GUIDED tour. Guests are led through the cultural and culinary evolution of Old Town which digs deeper into how the history and flavors of the area shape one another over time. The food crawl includes a choice of 10 tastings at local favorites including Hen Quarter, Union Pub and BluePrint Chocolate.

“We are super excited to start our tours in Old Town. This area has a fascinating history and so many great restaurants to enjoy and we can’t wait to show it off. With so many to choose from, the hardest part is narrowing it down to a select few!” says Mary Collins, co-founder of Carpe DC Food Tours.

At check-in, guests will receive a special wristband, tickets, and passport with a map to redeem tapas-sized tastings at each restaurant. Exact meeting location and details will be provided at the time of ticket purchase.

The official Tastes of Spring Cherry Blossom Food Crawl is available on March 30, 2019 in the Penn Quarter neighborhood of Washington, DC, and April 6, 2019 in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia.

Tickets start at $80 for 6 tickets, and $96 for 8 tasting tickets and guests can exchange 1 ticket for a tasting at each of the participating locations.

Vegetarian options are available at the time of ticket purchase. The self-guided tours are conducted by foot, covering a distance of just over a mile, and are suitable for all ages and fitness levels. Guests may visit restaurants in any order they choose, during set crawl hours. Tickets now available at
