Cafe Riggs Reopens with New Outdoor Terrace and Restaurant Dining

Cafe Riggs, the modern, all-occasion restaurant located on the ground floor of the new Riggs Washington DC hotel, reopens today with a charming new outdoor terrace and menu favorites.

Having opened just a few weeks before the stay at home measures were set in place, Chef Patrick Curran and team are excited to bring the casual, yet grand European brasserie experience back to the Penn Quarter neighborhood.

For Your Safety and the Safety of Others

To present the highest level of safety for diners, Cafe Riggs now features a charming new outdoor terrace, complete with beautiful blue and white awnings, manicured greenery and Plexiglas partitions to invoke an intimate and safe seating environment. 

With the health and safety of guests and staff as the very highest priority, the guest experience and maintenance approach has evolved to include rigorous and exhaustive measures and precautions.

Protective face masks and gloves will be worn by all staff and required by all guests outside of their seated tables, contactless delivery and payment with menus accessed through QR codes will be available, though a server will still take the order and deliver high-level service to the table.  Table distancing and employee health checks accompany frequent deep cleanings of the entire space.

Inside Café Riggs, the community may once again enjoy the comforts of the bright and airy design while savoring the fresh summer menu. 

Highlights include Halibut, served with kohlrabi, fennel and kale; a Warm Pea Salad comprised of pea shoots, preserved lemon and chives; the Summer Stone Fruit with mint, shallots and croutons, and Chef’s Classic Chicken Salad Sandwich with pickles and French fries. 

Reservations are encouraged through OpenTable or directly at as seating is limited.

Delivery or Takeout Remains

Delivery service and curbside takeout remain available with the family-style Whole Roasted Chicken Dinner, At-Home Meal Kit, Weekend Brunch, newly seasonal added dishes, wine, hand-crafted bottled cocktails and spirits that blend Chef Patrick Curran’s classic, but modern cooking style.


5:30 pm-10 pm, Monday-Saturday and 5:30 pm-9 pm on Sunday. Brunch is available from 11:30 am-3 pm on Saturday and Sunday.
