It’s the most wonderful time of the year. You know the one: when you can finally get out of your house and enjoy a nice meal with friends or family. Brasserie Beck, located on 11th and K Street Northwest, offers a wide selection of beers and mussels served in large portions – perfect for sharing with fellow convention attendees, friends, or family visiting from out of town.

The Lowdown

Brasserie Beck is a Belgian bistro in the heart of Washington, DC. The restaurant started in 2012, and Chef Brian McBride heads the kitchen.

The food at Brasserie Beck is based on simple ingredients that are always fresh and seasonal. It doesn’t matter if you are looking for a hearty meal or just want some small bites – you can find it here!

European Style – Big Flavors

The fare at Brasserie Beck is based on the traditional Belgian cooking style, but with a few modern twists. The mussels are made with a selection of choices like – white wine, green curry, applewood smoked bacon, or heritage veal & pork. And there are so many beers available, it is impossible to list them all here. The beer list is extensive and features local brews and imports from Belgium, including some beers that aren’t even available in the United States.

Service and Ambiance

Service at Brasserie Beck is attentive and friendly, with knowledgeable staff that are eager to share their recommendations. They’re also happy to accommodate special requests like substituting a side salad for fries or swapping out beer for wine. And if you’re looking for something more decadent than mussels, they offer other dishes such as steak frites, cheeseburgers, and oysters on the half shell.

The ambiance here is casual and relaxed—perfect for catching up with co-workers over a few beers. The restaurant itself is located just around the corner from the DC Convention Center, so it can get busy on weekends or during conventions, but otherwise, it’s pretty quiet during weekday lunch hours. The service at Brasserie Beck was also excellent; our server was knowledgeable about beer and food, making ordering easy.

If you’re in Washington DC looking for an upscale meal with craft beer pairings, this place would be an excellent choice! brasseriebeck.com
