Washington, DC (March 15th, 2011) – The 2011 “The Children Are Our Stars” Gala will take place at the JW Marriott Hotel in Washington, D.C. on April 2, 2011, and will be hosted by the Bethesda Chapter of the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA Bethesda), a non-profit that promotes partnerships between government and industry to benefit The Children’s Inn.
Established more than 20 years ago, The Children’s Inn is the only family-centered residence for pediatric patients and their families, who are participating in groundbreaking treatments and biomedical research at the NIH. The April Gala is the single largest fundraiser for The Children’s Inn and has raised more than $3.5 million since the event’s inception in 1999. Last year, the Gala brought together more than 900 attendees and over $530,000 in contributions.
